Part of the New Org Setup guide.
Use this procedure to create an Okta group for a customer organization directly from ZeroTek. For background on how Okta groups work and how they are used in ZeroTek, see Okta groups.
ROLE REQUIRED
To view, create, and modify groups:
ZeroTek Administrator
ZeroTek Technician
ZeroTek Technician without Deep Linking
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
If you're completing this procedure as part of the New Org Setup, you will perform this procedure twice — once to create the Deep Link group and once to create the Service/Shared Admin Accounts group.
Steps
In ZeroTek, make sure you have the correct Organization selected. Navigate to the Groups area and click Add Group.
Type a name and description for the group, then click Add Group.
To create another group, click Groups to return to the groups list and repeat from Step 1.
IMPORTANT
If your MSP uses the Assign to Group field in your Deep Link User Settings, the Deep Link group name must exactly match the value in that field — a mismatch will prevent the feature from working. See Deep Link User Settings for more information.
BEST PRACTICE
Standardize the names of common groups — particularly the Deep Link group and the Service/Shared Admin Accounts group — and use those names consistently across all Okta orgs you manage. This makes groups immediately recognizable and ensures the Deep Link Assign to Group feature works reliably. For broader guidance, see Okta groups – MSP best practices.
